Job Overview

  • Perform Field testing application of concrete technology - MIRA, Ground Penetrating Radar, Impact Echo, UltrasonicPulse Velocity at RGPM sites.
  • Develop inspection procedures and techniques for field use.
  • Make recommendations to IRI customers with advice and technical expertise on NDE application
  • Support inspection of concrete containment structures at Nuclear sites.
  • Perform knowledge transfer to staff within P&RE section.
  • Support inspection and assist with concrete assessment and inspection program with the RGPM growth plan



  • OPG Structural Inspector Qualification 31024 and Non-metallic Inspection Qualification 31184 or equivalent is desirable.
  • Requires in depth knowledge of the theory, principles and practices associated with concrete NDE technology, able to interpret codes, specifications and test results, able to provide technical advice, guidance, consultation and problem-solving on inspection and maintenance of concrete structures in nuclear and hydro-electric generating stations.
  • Requires in depth knowledge of concrete repair material and procedures.
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through successful completion of a 2-year engineering course at a technical college with 10 years of experience or a 4-year engineering course at a university with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in CSA N287.7 inspections.
  • An ACI Concrete Inspector designation is preferred.
