Job Overview
1. Review, revise, assess and manage technical chemistry specifications;
2. Apply technical specifications for chemistry control of process systems to site level procedures;
3. Perform surveillance of the system chemistry control;
4. Record findings, analyze data, and present conclusions to internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner;
5. Write Corrective Action Plans, reports, and self-assessments; Initiate and/or lead projects to improve chemistry control at the station;•Provide technical evaluation, considerations and proposals, as required in a number of major work areas, in an Ontario Power Generation, Nuclear (OPG,N) facility;
6. Maintain instructions and procedures up to date and prepare reports to provide information and data in answer to external requests or for historical purposes;•Initiate studies or investigations where opportunities for improvement are apparent. In some instances, these opportunities may be identified by the Supervisor;
7. Collect, or arrange for collection, and analyze data from past events or operations
8. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred) or Applied Science (Chemistry preferred)
9. Experience working in a Nuclear or Fossil Power Generating station is desirable;
10. Experience in advocacy and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements;
11. Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments where showing initiative and self motivation are assets;
12. Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision;
13. Experience managing projects;
14. Proven track record on delivering results;
15. Excellent usage of Microsoft Office applications;
16. Experience with Visual Basic or other programming language (asset);
17. Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
