Job Overview

 

Working in hydroelectric generating stations and auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to, inspection, assessment, preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications for repairs or replacement of, but not limited to the following:

 

  • Concrete dam inspection, assessment, preparation of detailed design and construction specifications.
  • Sluiceway Steel Stop Logs.
  • Powerhouse Extension.
  • Sluiceway Stop Log Machines.
  • Underwater Inspections of civil structures.
  • Gantry cranes.
  • Booms and Bouys.
  • Elevators.
  • Grout injection of concrete for structural repairs, and sealing of water leakage.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university, with demonstrated experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Unrestricted P. Eng. Certification in good standing in the Province of Ontario.
  • Required travel via air, boat, etc, with a valid Ontario Driver’s license in good standing, travel up to 30% of the time including overnight stays.
  • Extensive demonstrated, recent experience (minimum 5 to 8 yrs) in hydroelectric generating stations and auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to, inspection, assessment, preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications for repairs or replacement of, but not limited to the following:
  • Concrete dam inspection, assessment, preparation of detailed design and construction specifications.
  • Sluiceway Steel Stop Logs
  • Powerhouse Extension
  • Sluiceway Stop Log Machines
  • Underwater Inspections of civil structures
  • Gantry cranes
  • Booms and Bouys
  • Elevators
  • Grout injection of concrete for structural repairs, and sealing of water leakage
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the OH&S Act and Regulations especially for Industrial Establishments (Ont Reg 851) and Construction (Ont Reg 213) and various applicable codes and standards.
